Originally started in 1927 in Dallas as ‘the world’s first convenience store’, the stores changed their name to 7-Eleven in 1946 to reflect their extended hours, 7 am to 11 pm. Starting in 1963, 7-Eleven stores began to keep their stores open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
